We celebrated our 25th year in the business which was very exciting and lots of fun. We hosted a party for our favourite colleagues and enjoyed a lively afternoon catching up and having fun. To show our appreciation for your support we are holding a string of year long contests awarding gift certificates to businesses we love. Topping it off we will hold a draw giving our clients who list with us a chance to win up to $25,000.

2014, our 25th year in the business, was our most successful year ever. Our unit sales were up 18% and our dollar volume sales were up 33% from 2013. We listed 65 properties and sold houses to 33 buyers. Many of our listings sold for well above the list price and some of our buyer clients even procured a house below the list price in this frenzied sellers market. We are very proud of this and grateful for your support.

Our website visitors in 2014 climbed from 166,000 in 2013 to 329,000 in 2014. An astounding 98.2% growth rate and we're beyond thrilled. Statistics reveal that as many as 20% of our visitors spend over an hour on our website. We hope this is a testament to the quality and usefulness of the material we provide.

Our blog was nominated, once again, as one of the best real estate blogs to follow. We work hard through our popular blog to educate you, the consumer, to give you the power to steer your own real estate experience. You get information from many sources and sometimes it can be confusing. We bring it all together to make it clear and concise.

In order to provide our clients with top quality marketing and the broadest exposure of your homes to ensure we get the highest possible sold price, we hired Marla Rotenberg as our marketing expert. Marla will allow Valerie and I to spend more time keeping in touch, face to face, with our past clients and we're really looking forward to this.

Many of you know I feel passionate about raising the bar of the real estate profession. Setting an example, mentoring agents and reporting unprofessional conduct to our industry regulator (RECO) are just a few ways to do this. I practise what I preach so this year I reported three agents for unprofessional conduct and I am pleased to report that they were all given a stern warning by our regulator. In 2015 I encourage every agent to help restore consumer confidence in our industry through mentoring new agents, volunteering in your community, reporting unprofessional conduct and doing whatever you can to raise the bar.

2014 was a very successful and rewarding year for our team. The best part was meeting people who entrust us with the biggest financial decision they will ever make. We take this very seriously and we appreciate the confidence and trust you place in us.

We hope to meet you personally in 2015 and wish you, our readers, all the best for the new year!
