Fall in love with Hillcrest Village

Since we began our “Celebrating 25 Years” theme in January, our mantra has been #JosieLovesHillcrest! We do love Hillcrest Village - the shops, amenities and the community at large. It is a tree lined, urban neighbourhood where diversity thrives and people are engaged in local activities and with each other. Fall is definitely a great time of year to prove our dedication, as we proudly sponsor both the Humewood Community School’s Annual “Family Fall Fair” and Wychwood Barn’s “Boo At The Barns” Halloween events!

As well, we are now in our 6th year of sponsoring Project Give Back at Humewood Community and Regal Road schools. This passion based program is designed for elementary students to develop empathy, build character, and ignite community minded citizens. By ‘Investing in Future Philanthropists” you can see amazing things happen as children develop passion through community engagement - and a wonderful, self-confidence and belief in themselves follows!

It is our 9th time since 2002 sponsoring the Humewood Annual Family Fall Fair. Always great fun, it is an integral part of the Humewood Community School’s fundraising initiatives. There is something for all ages, from bouncy castles to family games and talent shows.

Parents, students, staff and community work together to provide an amazing event. Funds generated have helped provide classroom support, new technology, arts programs, scientists in the schools, new equipment and much more.

We sponsored the Entertainment portion of the fair, and we’re excited to announce that our host this year is Canada’s very own hip-hop queen Michie Mee, not only a Juno nominated rapper and actress but an avid supporter of children striving to achieve a good education. Recording artist and songwriter Candace Sand will be giving an acoustic performance. Find out more about Michie Mee at www.michiemee.com and about Candace Sand at www.candicesand.com
