In its midst of Deer Park, Toronto stand two of the most recognized private schools in the country, Bishop Strachan for young females and Upper Canada College for young males. Deer Park real estate also includes a fair number of newer townhouses that fit perfectly within their surroundings. There is a large selection of luxury condominium apartment buildings and co-operative buildings.
Location
The limits of Deer Park are defined by the Rosedale Ravine to the east, Farnham Avenue to the south, the Beltline Trail to the north, and Avenue Road and Oriole Parkway to the west. It’s bordered by David A. Balfour Park, the Vale of Avoca ravine, and Oriole Park, and therefore provides many places for relaxation. The main intersection, Yonge and St. Clair, is the commercial, shopping, and industrial core of the area. Deer Park real estate offers a mix of detached and semi-detached houses that vary in architectural style, size, and type. Their historic facades together with the trees lining the streets contribute to the charm of the area.

Oriole Park
WebsiteA park with a children’s playground, a wading pool, and two tennis courts that has an access Toronto’s old Beltline Railway.
David A. Balfour Park
WebsiteA deep ravine in the heart of Toronto with a reservoir underneath, it runs from the southern tip of Mount Pleasant Cemetery to Mount Pleasant Road just north of Roxborough Avenue. The park is part of Toronto’s history because in the ‘70s, this ravine was the most famous gay sex cruising ground. It would be filled with dozens of men each night. However, today the situation is different. The upper trail on the west side is ideal for joggers and cyclists, while the lower dirt path is a great place for hikers and dog walkers. Lined with many fallen trees, walking through certain sections can be pretty challenging. The east side is mostly flat and offers a less difficult route.
Rosehill Reservoir Park
WebsiteOverlooking Rosedale to the south and David A. Balfour Park to the east, Rosehill Reservoir Park is one of the best options for walking excursions within the City of Toronto. Home to unique flora and fauna (don’t be surprised to see a deer or fox), this park features a footpath used by many walkers, joggers, and cyclists. The three main entrances (at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, David A. Balfour Park, and from St. Clair Avenue at the Avoca Street bridge) make it easily accessible.
Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens
WebsiteThe western gateway of a five-kilometre-long network of gardens running from Yonge and Lawrence to the borders of Leaside is Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens. The trails are open all year long, and there is street parking available near the entrance.
Transportation
Deer Park is well-served by the Yonge subway line through the St. Clair and Davisville stations, as well as various bus routes. It is also considered a car-friendly area.
By Car
It takes approximately ten minutes to get to downtown Toronto via Yonge Street or Avenue Road, and twenty minutes to Toronto’s highways and expressways.
By Streetcar
The 512 St. Clair runs along St. Clair Avenue from St. Clair Station on the Yonge line to a streetcar loop just past Keele Street and passes through St. Clair West Station on the University-Spadina line.
By Subway
The neighbourhood is served by St. Clair Station, which is within walking distance of every home in the area. St. Clair Station has street entrances on St. Clair and on Mount Pleasant Boulevard and is on the Yonge–University line. St. Clair Station is also the terminus for the 512 St. Clair Streetcar and the terminus for the 74 Mount Pleasant and 88 South Leaside buses.
